Trailblazers: The Creative Story Behind Mountain Biking in Santa Cruz was an exhibition about the history of, and artistry behind, mountain bikes. This collaborative show brought together athletes, industrial designers, and artists. Many of whom, wear all those hats.
The graphics for this project were inspired by the natural world, the backdrop for the sport of mountain biking. I wanted the colors to be vibrant and alive to match the fast paced, adrenaline filled world of downhill riding. The colors also served as a way to visually organize sections of the gallery. The typography was a combination of handwritten typeface to hint at the scrappy, inventor spirit at the beginning of the sport and the house sans serif.
